Affirmations during pregnancy

Being pregnant can be physically and emotionally taxing on you and your family. You can access doctors and other specialists for any physical help you may need, but how are you going to maintain good emotional health during this time? Affirmations and positive thinking is an easy way to help maintain your emotional health.

What are Affirmations

Affirmations are short, power statements you say to yourself to help create positive thinking. Affirmations and positive thinking can combat negative thinking, reduce stress and improve overall wellbeing, all of which are great when you are pregnant.

Why are Affirmations so powerful during pregnancy

As a mother of three, I can attest to the power of affirmations during pregnancy. Pregnancy is a time of immense change and transition, both physically and emotionally. It can be easy to get caught up in worries and anxieties about the future. Affirmations can also help you connect with your growing baby and establish a deep sense of trust in your body's ability to nurture and support new life. So go ahead, mama - repeat those affirmations to yourself daily and watch your mindset shift towards a more positive and empowered state.

Add them to your mirror - print each statement out and stick to your bathroom mirror to look at each day.

Say them to yourself in the mirror - print each statement out and stick to your mirror. Say them aloud everyday.

Tape yourself and have it playing in the morning - use your phone to record yourself saying each statement out aloud and replay them everyday.

Personal experience using affirmations during pregnancy

As a mother of three, I know firsthand how challenging pregnancy can be both physically and emotionally. During my first to-term pregnancy (I suffered multiple miscarriage before successfully holding onto a pregnancy), I discovered the power of affirmations. I found that using affirmations helped me to feel more empowered and calm during my pregnancy. I would repeat phrases such as "My body is strong and capable", "I trust my intuition as a mother", and "My baby is healthy and happy". These affirmations not only helped me to feel more positive, but they also helped me to connect with my baby and trust in the process of pregnancy. I encourage all expecting mothers to try using affirmations during pregnancy and see how it can positively impact their mental and emotional wellbeing.

Final thoughts

The TTC journey can be exciting, draining and emotional, it’s important to give yourself patience and kindness. You will find affirmation resources in my resource library.
