Hi there, I’m Jodie, and I’m so glad you’re here. I believe in the magic of everyday moments - the joy of putting pen to paper, the comfort of a warm cup of tea, and the little sparks of happiness that come from creativity and connection. Life isn’t just about the big milestones; it’s about the tiny, beautiful moments in between. That’s what Head and Heart Books is all about - helping you capture those moments, reflect on them, and find joy in your journey.

A Little About My Story

Before I started my own business, I spent over 15 years working in social work, mostly in education settings, supporting young people and their mental well-being. In 2016, I stepped away from my career to focus on my growing family, embracing a new season of life as a stay-at-home mum. While these days were filled with storytime snuggles, baby giggles, and endless cups of (cold) tea, I never lost my love for helping others.

That passion led me here - to creating a space where creativity and well-being meet. I believe that everyone, no matter their background, deserves simple, meaningful tools to nurture their mental health. Whether it’s through journaling, affirmations, or small moments of self-reflection, I hope to help others find their own magic in the everyday.

A little more about me
  • I’m a mum of three, including twins! My oldest are girl/boy twins and my youngest is another boy.
  • I suffered recurrent miscarriages before successfully holding a pregnancy. Thankfully my Obstetrician was able to find out what was causing the miscarriages.
  • I grew up in the beautiful Adelaide Hills, South Australia on a farm.
  • Despite being an introvert, I make an effort to be social and connect with others (I do need my alone time at nights to recoup).
  • I enjoy taking time for myself on a weekend morning for a relaxing bubble bath.
  • I love to read. I have a massive TBR (To-Be-Read) list.
  • I also love journaling. I am a bit of a stationary addict.
  • Being creative is very important to me, I own a Cricut machine and cupboards full of craft supplies to allow me to be creative.
  • Spending time outdoors with me family is a favourite activity of mine. Whether it's going for a walk, a bike ride, or having a picnic, I really value quality time with my loved ones.

Thank you for stopping by and sharing in this space with me. I hope this space brings a little extra joy, reflection, and inspiration to your life - one journal page, one small moment, and one little bit of everyday magic at a time.
